Nov. 29

6th grade- Half the class learned how to sew 1/4 " seam and the other half of the class finished customs paper.

7th grade- Watched a video of The Cosby Show about how Theo's family shows him the 'real world' . Then they wrote about their dream and where they see themselves at age twenty-five.

Nov. 17

6th grade- Learned about the symbols on the clothing. As in the tags on the clothes and how to wash them.

7th grade- Went over the five steps of decision making. Then they took a utips test, for unit one.

Nov. 16

6th grade- Learned how to handle an iron. Read lables in clothing & use a washer.

7th grade- Watched video on what NOT to do at a job interview. And those who dressed like they were going to a job interview got 5 extra credit points.

Nov. 15

6th grade- Took a personality quiz which identifies qualities that they posses. Inforcing the idea that we are different.
7th- Counseler

Nov.12

6th- Finished up their paper "self" images.

7th- The seventh graders talked about communication. The three types of communication are Verbal, Non verbal and written. We played "telephone", which demonstrated that if we do not receive communication then the message is no good. We read " The Water Closet" which talks of a miscommunication between a British Lady who was referring to the "WC" as the Water closet and a school master who thought the "WC" stood for Weslian Church. We also took a quick group quiz to see if we could sort picture of the three types of communication. We summarized that the definition of Communication is the exchange and understanding of thoughts, messages and ideas.

Nov.11

6th- The sixth graders began creating a paper "self" image. We will complete it tomorrow.

7th- The seventh graders talked about how to work together. And what you need to do to be a good employee. We did an activity on how to work with other people, as you would in the work field.

Nov.10

6th grade- We are begining to talk about self, recognizing that we are all differrent, but that we make an impact on others lives. Today we did a getting to know you questionaire/hunt.

7th grade- We talked about stress. We talked about good and bad stress, and how to handle stress. Mrs. Fawcett told us that we had a 10 page paper and all the details. But it was fake it was just to get us stressed. Then we listened to a relaxation CD.

Nov. 9

Today in Mrs. Fawcetts class, the 6th & 7th graders did the same thing. Mrs. Fawcett read one thing off of everyone's folders. She pasted out unit one packets. Then we did a hunt to look for things around the class room.

Prepare for Test

We will be having a child care test on our last day together :(
the 6th graders will be finishing their Interior Design Projects!!!
